Passing Strange

I have recently started writing a story of my own, titled Passing Strange. November, a teenage girl, has always considered herself out-of-the-ordinary. Since she was 3 years old, she noticed that she could hear things from very far distances. November has always thought that everyone else was the same way. Whenever she tried to tell someone about her extraordinary hearing, they never believed her. Though now, on July 29, November's birthday, two other girls move in to the house next door. After meeting goth-crazed Calamity and night-owl Freyja (pronounced FRAY ah), November realizes she may not be the only one with supernatural powers...

What do you think of Passing Stange? Chapter 1 should be coming in another post soon. : )

Hey Monday

This is a great pop/punk band. Some think Hey Monday is a rip-off of Paramore, but most of you are wrong. Currently, the group members are Cassadee Pope, Mike Gentile, Alex Lipshaw, and Michael Moriarty. Elliot James quit the band recently this year. : (

If any of you are interested in Hey Monday, you can find out more info at their home page, www.heymondaymusic.com .

Buffy Summers: The Slayer With Quite A Past

I know, I know. I'm kind of going back to the past in this post, but I really don't care. All you vampire fans. All you Twilight-aholics. All you vampire-wannabes. This was a tv-show back in the day, that is pretty interesting. I recently discovered it, after my dad introduced my to the beloved Bram Stoker's Dracula.

In Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Buffy Summers (middle of the picture) is the most recent vampire slayer. She recruits sarcastic Xander Harris (top right corner in the picture) and wicca Willow Rosenburg (bottom right corner in the picture) to help her out on her quest to stop the Apocolypse, which happens every year. On the way, she encounters werewolf Oz (bottom left corner in the picture), vampire Spike, vengence demon Anya, demon hunter Riley, vampire with a soul Angel, and Dawn, her long-lost little sister. Every season of Buffy is just another adventure to be sucked into. From sending vampires back to their graves to training for every Apocolyptic day, Buffy has it all.

Also, in case you were worried, when they stake the vampires, they turn to dust. So if you were planning to watch this with your son or daughter, the only thing you need to be worried about are the occasional turning-into-a-vampire ritual thing which usually take place in an alleyway.

Facts About The Show

  1. 7 seasons of the show
  2. 144 episodes total
  3. In case you are interested, there is a spin-off of Buffy called Angel which follows the story of Angel, the vampire with a soul, when he moves to L.A.,California to save the world there, after Buffy, the slayer, broke up with him. (So sad...)

Generation Dead

For all you vampire-lovers out there, I think this book might fit what your looking for. It is not quite a love story, yet not quite a horror or sci-fi book either. In Generation Dead, a strange phenomenon is happening. Some teenagers who die aren't staying dead. They come back to life, but their reactions and responses are much slower then they once were. The world has named them "differently biotic" or "living impaired".

Then you have Pheobe Kendall, your typical goth girl. She always has her best friends, Margi and Adam by her side. But nobody can believe it when Pheobe falls for Tommy Williams, leader of the dead kids. Not even Margi, with her fear of the differently biotic deeply rooted in her past. Especially not Adam, her neighbor, also the star of the football team. His feelings for Pheobe run deeper than friendship. He would do anything for her, but what is he to do if protecting Tommy is the one thing that would make her happy?
The recently-written sequel to Generation Dead is Kiss of Life. Just a warning to those who are planning to read G.D. , you might not want to read the rest of this paragraph. The ending of G.D. is given away.
And that's why I'm not going to tell you what K.o. L. is about.
At least not yet anyway.
Mwahahaha....

Intro

Hello all. I just wanted to introduce Fire And Ice. I'm not quite sure how to start my blog off, so how about a welcoming "Hi!" ? This blog might not sound like the place to be, but it will get better. After all, I'm an ametuer! Hope I spelled that right...

This is just a intro post, so just hang on till I can post more. : )

By the way, this is a REALLY interesting blog of a librarian attempting to read all the books in her library. It is really good.
